Stacy Luther

Parent Representative, EHDI Community Outreach Coordinator

Stacy lives in Gretna with her husband, Todd, four kids, Chase (21), Brady (19), Austin (18), Hope (10) and two miniature dachshunds, Cocoa and Charlie. Three of her children have a hearing difference. Brady is hard-of-hearing in his right ear due to a non-cancerous cyst he developed in 3rd grade. Austin is deaf and just graduated from Iowa School for the Deaf. He was identified at 16 months old. Austin identifies as deaf plus due to other developmental challenges (Autistic, OCD, ODD, hyperopia and sensory processing difficulties). Hope is hard-of-hearing and has microtia (underdeveloped outer ear) and atresia (hearing difference due to the absence of the ear canal). Stacy is also the Community Outreach Coordinator for the Nebraska Early Hearing, Detection and Intervention (NE-EHDI) program. Her passion is helping parents get connected to resources to help their child’s journey be as successful as possible, whatever that may mean and however that may look. She is also very passionate about advocating for the deaf plus population. It has been a long, challenging road, but we have created so many wonderful connections through our journey that have helped us keeping pressing forward one day at a time.
